Compass Transport is a logistics service provider based in Hardenberg. Every day we drive more than 40 cars through the Benelux and Germany. With approximately 80 colleagues, a modern fleet and reliable partners, we ensure that our logistics services are carried out as well as possible for our clients.
Sneldienst Hardenberg was founded in 1985 by Harry Breukelman and his partner. Transport services were provided with 2 buses for several clients in Hardenberg and the surrounding area. Transports were carried out throughout Europe for these clients. Whether it was an envelope or a 10-meter package, the express service could transport it. Around 1991, Harry continued with the express service alone without his partner.
Due to economic growth in the 90s, Sneldienst Hardenberg is increasingly expanding into a larger company. By the mid-90s, there were already more than 15 delivery vans on the road. More and more new clients are joining us.
Over the years, the express service continued to expand. The vehicles were purchased from Reinout Stephanus and Jan Lenters of AutoCombi. Together we looked at expanding with trucks and trailers. In 2002, Harry, Reinout and Jan founded Amix. Amix focused on courier work, larger part loads with trucks and temporary work. In 2005, the first new construction was completed on Denmarkweg. This building consisted of an office, 2000 m2 cross dock and 2 loading docks.
In 2010, Amix built an additional hall of 3000 m2. The building on Denmarkweg now consists of 5000 m2 of cross dock and 6 loading docks. Amix will also collaborate with Veurink Benelux in 2010. The collaboration with Veurink added more than 100 years of transport experience.
Due to the aftermath of the recession, it was decided in 2012 that Amix and Veurink would continue together as Compass Transport. The step towards efficiency has therefore been taken.
Due to economic growth and higher demand for transport and warehousing, construction of our new distribution center will start in 2020. A hall of 3000 m2 and 12 additional loading docks were installed close to the current building. This hall was mainly used for daily cross-docking and storage of goods.
The 3000 m2 expansion quickly became too small due to continued growth. As a result, it was decided to sell the 3000 m2 hall and the construction of a new 6000 m2 hall with 24 loading docks and another storage hall of 3000 m2 was started. This new distribution center also made room for new offices and a spacious training area.
Compass Logistics was founded in 2023 out of the desire to provide customers with more than just transport through the Benelux and Germany. Compass Logistics will be an extension of Compass Transport. Where our own cars stop, we have various partners with Logistics to arrange the entire logistics process.
We now have almost 50 vehicles, 80 colleagues and 20 m000 of storage capacity. We are also increasingly concerned with modernizing our fleet, the possibility of expanding our warehouse by 2 m10 and further automating our systems.
